PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Allergic rhinitis with or without conjunctivitis (AR/C) in children and adolescents is a commonly misunderstood, misdiagnosed, and mistreated condition. AR/C exerts a significant effect on quality of life and has deleterious effects on sleep, academic performance, family functioning, and involvement in outdoor activities. Fortunately, there have been advances in the diagnosis and treatment of AR/C that support improved diagnosis and care of patients with inadequate relief from symptom-relieving therapies, including broadly available specific allergen-specific immunoglobulin E (lgE) tests, advances in understanding of immune mechanisms, and newer allergen immunotherapies including oral tablet immunotherapy.

The program will review these important updates to provide clinicians with the knowledge and skills to provide care to children and adolescents with AR/C that is aligned with the latest evidence and best practices.
