PROGRAM OVERVIEW

GOLD is dedicated to continuing our mission to disseminate knowledge on the best practices for diagnosis and management of COPD around the world.  In an effort to reach the Latin American community, we would like to partner with ALAT for a two-hour event to bring information from our Philadelphia conference, including the GOLD 2025 update, in Spanish to Latin America, along with additional locally relevant content. This is a free, virtual only event – registration will include access to the recorded content for one year.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This educational activity is designed for clinicians involved in the management of patients with COPD.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss updated recommendations for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of COPD contained in the 2025 GOLD Report
  • Explore the clinical and epidemiological implications of considering the sequelae of tuberculosis as COPD as well as the sequelae of tuberculosis in the Latin American context
  • Understand the importance of how changes in altitude can impact COPD, including how to assess and classify an exacerbation using the ROME criteria, and define the severity of exacerbations using easy to obtain clinical variables
  • Understand the impact and burden of undiagnosed COPD and how case finding can help identify undiagnosed disease, enable early detection, and help guide treatment targets, and review available evidence of treatment finding, including impact on clinical outcomes.

DIRECTIONS TO LEARNER

  • Complete the posttest and evaluation form at the end of the program

A statement of credit will be issued only upon receipt of a completed activity evaluation form. Certificates will be sent via email within four weeks of receipt of the competed evaluation form.
